Dr Radka Velitchkova obtained her education in Medical University – Prof Dr Paraskev Styanov in Varna (Bulgaria) in 1984. She gained her Specialist Paediatrics qualification in 1994. Since then, she has worked as a paediatrician. She has been practicing her profession in Bulgaria (15 years), Libya (4 years) and UK for the last 19 years. She has been working in variety of NHS hospitals across London – Kings College Hospital , St George Hospital, Chelsea , Westminster Hospital , Darent Valley Hospital , Croydon University Hospital. She also has experience working in the private sector in the UK for over 6 years. At present she is a part time employee in Princess Royal University Hospital ( Kings College Hospital Trust). Her scope of work is clinical assessment in order to determine the right diagnosis which is supported by detailed history, full examination, appropriate investigations and prompt management. She provides consultation and advice on the growth and development for infants and toddlers. She works with children from new-borns to 16 years old. She likes working in team. Dr Velitchkova appreciates different opinions from her colleagues and is open for discussion regarding patients or different matter. She respects patients’ concerns and opinion and values their dignity. Dr Velitchkova speaks English, Bulgarian and Russian. She also has command of German and Arabic.
